What is your favorite thing about UHP? My favorite thing about UHP is the supportive community that I have found here! Especially during my freshman year, I felt very fortunate to have found a group of people who are all determined and motivated, but who all have different passions and backgrounds.
What have you accomplished in college that you are most proud of? I am very proud of the grades I have made in college so far, and being able to keep up my school work in addition to being involved with UHP and maintaining my friendships and relationships has not always been easy, but I get better at it every year! College is a balancing act, and I am proud to say that I have been able to successfully balance work, relationships, and school so far.
What do you still hope to accomplish in college? I hope to get more involved with other on-campus organizations and explore some other niche clubs or programs that capture my interest.
What is your favorite place on UNC Charlotte’s campus? My favorite places on campus are the ones where I can be surrounded by people, but invisible at the same time. I don't really have one specific place in mind, but when I am on campus for long periods of time, I like to explore tucked away corners of academic buildings and public spaces. For example, the lounge on the second floor of Denny, the nest chairs on the first floor of Prospector, and the gazebos in the botanical gardens are nicely hidden and offer me a break from the hustle and bustle of campus.
How has UHP impacted you? Coming into college, I was very nervous that I would not find a community or a group of people I could relate to. Living in the honors dorm and participating in UHP allowed me to find an amazing group of people who are all so different from each other! We all have different passions and personalities, but our similarities lie in our determination, pursuit of education, and eagerness to lift up ourselves and our surrounding community!
