Melissa McGrath is the most recent Honors Niner to join the growing group of UHP Alumni. During her time at UNC Charlotte, Melissa was actively involved on campus and throughout the Charlotte communty. Melissa is particularly passionate about her work with Habitat for Humanity where she served at a record number of builds during her time at UNC Charlotte. During her time at UNC Charlotte, Melissa McGrath was actively involved on campus and throughout the Charlotte community. Melissa is particularly passionate about her work with Habitat for Humanity where she served at a record number of builds during her time at UNC Charlotte. She received the high honor of being invited to serve as the Bell Ringer at December commencement. The Bell Ringer performs the longstanding tradition of ringing the UNC Charlotte "victory bell," which was gifted to Ms. Bonnie Cone in 1961 when Charlotte College moved from its old site at Central High School to the current UNC Charlotte location. The qualifications of the Bell Ringer encompasses an outstanding student leader who has demonstrated exemplary 49er spirit within organizations, volunteerism, and/or service to others. Melissa is preparing to begin her career as a pediatric critical care nurse at Duke University Medical Center.
