Community engagement is a hallmark of the UHP experience. As such, UHP partners with a variety of local neighborhoods, including the College Downs neighborhood adjacent to the UNC Charlotte campus. Our students recently worked with residents to repair a fence that had been damaged during demonstrations in September. Broken posts were removed, new holes were drilled, and new posts cut to size to repair the fence along Bonnie Lane. Members of the College Downs community, including College Downs Community Association President and emeritus faculty member Dr. Meg Morgan, came out to lend their support to the UHP volunteers. This is just one way that UHP members engage with the Charlotte community.
